We built thread because organisations deserve better than relying on memory.

Every organisation is shaped by conversations. Expectations are set, feedback is given and decisions are made, yet the moments that matter most end up scattered across meetings, emails, chat platforms and people's memories. Context fades, recollections differ, and organisations spend their energy reconstructing the past. thread connects those conversations, preserves their context and helps organisations decide with confidence.

Why thread was created

thread wasn't born from a brainstorming session. It was built because, despite coming from completely different careers, the three of us kept witnessing exactly the same problem.

Important conversations were shaping organisations every day, yet by the time someone needed to revisit them the context had disappeared. Expectations had changed, memories differed, and decisions were being made from fragments rather than a complete picture.

Organisations didn't need more information. They needed a better way to preserve it, connect it and understand it.

The problem it solves

Organisations don't struggle because they lack information. They struggle because it lives in dozens of disconnected places. When context fragments, understanding disappears with it.

What thread does

thread connects conversations, meetings, commitments, projects and decisions into one trusted organisational memory, preserving the context around them so nothing sits in isolation.

How thread works

Connect the platforms your organisation already uses, and thread builds the relationships between conversations over time. One connected timeline instead of scattered notes and recordings.

The principles behind thread

Evidence before opinion

thread provides evidence and context, never verdicts. People should always make the decisions.

Fairness by default

Trust only exists when everyone can rely on the same shared understanding of what happened.

Clarity over complexity

Powerful technology shouldn't feel complicated. Every feature should make understanding easier, not harder.

Technology with purpose

Every feature exists to solve a real workplace problem, not simply because the technology allows it.

Trust is earned

Everything we build must be transparent, explainable and worthy of the confidence organisations place in it.

People first

thread has never been about collecting more information. It is about helping people understand each other and make fairer decisions.

Meet the founders

Three different careers. One shared problem.

From product, marketing and customer experience, to governance and organisational integrity, to enterprise technology and data — each founder had spent years solving a different piece of the same puzzle. thread was born when those perspectives came together.

Sammi Leaver

Founder

Across almost two decades working with founders, leadership teams, managers and employees, Sammi kept meeting the same problem in different rooms. Conversations shaped organisations every day, yet months later the same conversation was remembered differently.

Whether she was speaking to a chief executive or an apprentice, the frustration rarely changed: expectations had been discussed and decisions had been made, but everyone was relying on memory to explain them.

Sammi leads product, customer experience and brand, keeping fairness and shared understanding at the centre of every decision.

Keith Brown MBA BSc (Hons) MIET TechIOSH

Co-Founder

Keith has worked where governance, leadership and organisational integrity meet: universities, regulated environments, boardrooms, whistleblowing investigations and complex change.

His research into organisational integrity and board assurance reinforced a simple conclusion. Organisations rarely fail for want of information; they fail when context fragments and leaders decide without the full picture.

At thread he makes sure the platform reflects the realities of organisational life, showing not just what happened but how situations developed.

Yavin Owens

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Yavin has spent his career on information integrity across enterprise systems, data engineering and information architecture, where organisations generate vast amounts of information and still lose the context behind it.

That work spanned validation frameworks and large data transformation programmes, where better quality and accessibility changed how organisations could decide.

At thread he owns the architecture that turns disconnected conversations into trusted memory, preserving chronology, provenance and context.
